Abstract: More and more researchers are now concentrating on the technology of hybrid electric vehicle (EV) system. In EV electrification, the renewable hybrid energy system (REHS) determines the performance of the system. In one REHS, multiple-input hybrid converter (MIHC) is one of the most promising candidates, due to its advantages of less components, low cost and control simplicity. Therefore, a proper converter topology for a better utilization of power sources with different electrical characteristics. In this project, the bi-directional multiple-input DC-DC buck-boost converter topology is clarified. The circuit is integrated and available for delivering power from sources to the load individually or simultaneously. Meanwhile, the converter is able to be charged by the breaking energy. Simulations and comparisons are carried out based on the MATLAB/Simulink platform. The operation modes and the steady-state analysis are presented in the report.
