Abstract: With the constant increase in the world vehicle population, it has been a crucial concern in most developed/developing countries with regards to the pollution caused by vehicle emission as well as oil usage. Car manufacturers has been countering this issue by increasing the fuel efficiency of new vehicles, as well as coming out of hybrid car where it uses both electric and petrol. Some manufacturer even started to build pure electric vehicles like the BMW i3. The government has also played an important role by introducing more and more electric charging station island wide in Singapore. Nanyang Technology University (NTU), hence determined to involved herself and contribute to the automotive industry by creating its very own Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). The BEV project started in 2011, and the author belongs to the 4th team to continue on with the project. The author is responsible to take over from team 3, and to continue on with the progress of the previous team and being placed in charge of integrating the rear sub-frame motor platform into the vehicle package. In phase 1 of the project, the author ensure the CAD dimension is correct for the component that has been brought previously, and to CAD out all missing component. After the CAD model is confirmed, the author next the design and analyse the motor mounting, taking into account of the loadings, the stresses, and the vibration of the motor. In phase 2 of the project, the author looked into the cooling of the motor and also helped in the integration of the chassis with the rest of the team members.
