Title: Simulation study of photonic nanojet for super-resolution optical imaging
Authors: Mahalingam, Divek Kumar

Issue Date: 2015
Abstract: The lateral resolution of an optical microscope is usually limited by its diffraction. The photonic nanojet generated by a microsphere helps to break this diffraction limit. In this final year project, investigation of such photonic nanojets will be carried out in the project using COMSOL multiphysics software tool. Multiple simulations would be conducted using COMSOL with microspheres of various refractive indexes to observe their interactions. Bilayer microspheres of different refractive indexes would also be investigated in this project to observe if the different refractive indexes would affect the type of photonic nanojet generated.
