Title: | An online peer assessment system | Authors: | Shen, Yiwei | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Computer science and engineering::Software | Issue Date: | 2015 | Abstract: | This report describes the design and development of online peer assessment web application. Peer assessment is a useful tool where students provides feedback, in terms of grades or comments, on each other’s work. It is commonly implemented in institutions/schools of higher education where there is a large class size, which makes it difficult for instructors to assess individual student fairly and efficiently. However, there is a few problem that existing peer assessment system fails to address, especially in areas of credibility of each assessor. The objective of this project is to develop an online peer assessment system to enable peer assessment of student submissions, mostly computer programs. The system shall also be able to differentiate the assessors. In detail, there are three functions that must realize. Firstly, it provides students a platform to assess and comment on each other’s assignments; secondly, it provides instructor a system to track students’ performance and credits; thirdly, the system has an algorithm to compute the credibility of each students/assessor depends on their behavior. The web application is successfully implemented. Through realizing the three functions described above, test results show that the application is effective determine the credibility of assessor. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/65288 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
