Abstract: Home Automation System has been increasingly explored due to the wide range of expansion and advancements. To keep up the user demands, many companies are offering an all-in-one solution that allows users to create a HAS based purely on just a single company products. However, with the large choice available, more users are keen on combining devices from various companies and manufacturers. But the issue of companies not using a standardized protocol prevent users from doing so. In this project, a simple small-scale LED control system was constructed and implemented with a mobile phone application. Android development and network connection were certain knowledge required for the project. Testing of the mobile application was done with several Wi-Fi LED controllers and proposed measures to tackle common challenges were also examined.
