Abstract: Previous literatures have identified that the CEO is a crucial factor in determining a firm’s achievements. Looking into detail at a particular CEO characteristic, our study seeks to investigate relationship of CEO nationality and firm performance. Using data of 277 SGX-listed firms across financial years 2012 to 2014, we carry out OLS and LSDV regressions and find that indeed, foreign CEOs share a positive and significant relationship with firm performance as compared to their local counterparts.
