Title: | Development of online location information dictionary for Singapore places | Authors: | Kit, Ying Hao | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering | Issue Date: | 2016 | Abstract: | Singapore is one of the top ten most visited country in Asia by tourists in the world. Before stepping into Singapore, tourist will gather information by researching online as there are many reasons for Singapore to make it to one of the top, such as their local food and the attraction. Online forums, in particular, is one of the platform which contains widespread of valuable information that can assist the tourist in researching to decide where to visit around. However, online forums may have many comments in each thread and each comment may contain many location words as well. Hence, extracting location words of Singapore from each comments can help to reduce the research time for the tourist. This project is an entity search application and the scope will be just the location in Singapore such as the street and restaurant name. As forum user may also use acronym for a place, for example JP for Jurong Point and CSM for City Square Mall, the application should be able to identify it as a location as well by using natural language processing (NLP). | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/66750 | Schools: | School of Computer Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
