Title: | Revamp and redesign of game editor (Maze works) | Authors: | Heng, Chin Kiat | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Computer science and engineering | Issue Date: | 2016 | Abstract: | In the recent few years, it has become a trend to use games to assist in educating the new generation of programmers in their subject of learning. Game editor is a product of NTU Multi-plAtform Game Innovation Centre (MAGIC) and has undergone several revisions by various students. Game editor’s primary goal is to develop interests in learning programming for students who have just started to learn programming. It also helps its users to develop interest in the process of learning programming and computational thinking. As the game editor has undergone several revisions by several (FYP) students, it has not undergone significant architectural changes to enable it to utilize the new features of its engine (Unity) that it is built in. To allow the player to experience a better game environment, structural changes need to be done for the game. The project aims to optimize and make significant structural changes in the game in order to enable an enhanced experience made possible for the player. This report will discuss about the kind of revamp and redesign that has been made to the game editor and how it helps to improve user experience while playing the games created by themselves or others in the game editor. The report will also make recommendations of possible improvements that can be made to the project in the future. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/66807 | Schools: | School of Computer Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
