Title: | Data analysis portal for serious game platform | Authors: | Zhang, Han | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering | Issue Date: | 2016 | Abstract: | Aged tendency of population is a phenomenon for lots of countries all over the world. As a kind of serious games for health care, silver games attract the attention of lots of researchers and developers due to its great usage in diseases rehabilitation and medical diagnosis. In order to provide more meaningful insights and assistance on doctors’ diagnostic processes, data analysis is extremely important for every silver game. However, the silver game data analysis tool is still very few and not compatible with multiple games. For those few existing silver game data analysis platforms, there are some limitations as well. Those limitations, including simple and not so meaningful data analysis, difficult deployment, incompatible with other games, inflexibility in user experience, confusing workflows, unfriendly user interface and lack of system protection, have impaired the widespread of silver games in medical industry. To address these limitations, this project focuses on the enhancement on the silver games data analysis platform. A completely new data analysis portal is implemented to support multiple games data analysis with new technologies and architectures. Improvements like integration with games platform, multiple games analysis support, filters for patient management, historical diagram, play back diagram, refined workflows and more efficient software architecture make this Data Analysis Portal a powerful assistant for doctors’ diagnosis. Besides the functionalities, the usability and user friendliness are largely promoted by giving users clear workflows and easier actions to fulfill their tasks. An instance of game analysis is also implemented and embedded into this Data Analysis Portal called Parkinson Garden data analysis. The results of analysis are quite good. With the help of filter, diagram and game analysis, doctors can easily figure out the abnormal behaviors of a Parkinson patient. Meanwhile, the friendly user interface and great usability makes this data analysis tool easily used by those non-technical doctors and patients’ families. In addition, the better architecture and database redesign render the system a robust and comprehensive data analysis tool that is open to other games and future developments. With all these enhancement, the Data Analysis Portal for Serious Game Platform can really be used and make contribution to the industry. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/66818 | Schools: | School of Computer Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
