Title: A visual-based tourism assistant system : mobile and application part

Abstract: This is a report about a final year project done in School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. The project, to build a visual based tourism assistant system, is a joint project conducted by Chen Liyang and Zhou Xinzi. The system is available to its users as an installable application on mobile phone or wearable devices, such as see-through glasses. The core functionalities of the system are locating the user using video stream from camera, and marking objects surrounding the user. This project is done on top of others’ works, especially the research on computer vision technologies by the Rapid-Rich Object Search (ROSE) Lab and the research of indoor localization using image matching by Tao Qingyi in her final year project.
