Abstract: Attendance taking is a routine for the teacher to execute prior the start of each school day. Many have reflected that it has been a time consuming and tedious process. Furthermore, the teacher is bounded by inconvenience and immobility when they need to view the attendance information. This project consists of four Android-based applications to enable the teacher to managing student and classroom information on a mobile platform. Student Management Application is developed to manage the creation of personal details of each student in a user friendly manner. It also has the functionality to include multimedia data such as photographs and voice recording. Attendance Management Application is a RFID reader application developed to take the student’s attendance using RFID tag. Attendance Management Application will also be able to display the photograph of the student and play the voice recording upon successful RFID tag scanned, which is the main concept behind the attendance taking. Movement Management Application is a RFID reader application developed to monitor the movement of the student using RFID tag. Movement Management Application also has the functionality to establish WiFi communication between Attendance Management Application to display the student’s photograph and play the voice recording upon successful RFID tag scanned. Data Visualisation Application is developed to quickly draw attention to key messages and to provide visual data on the observation and patterns of the attendance and movement of the students. Ultimately, user studies were conducted to evaluate the usability and efficiency of the Student Management Application and Data Visualisation Application.
