|Title:||Incessant||Authors:||Lim, Jie Min||Keywords:||DRNTU::Visual arts and music||Issue Date:||2016||Abstract:||Without light, there would be no visibility after nightfall. Yet ever since the introduction of artificial lights, there has been an excess of light. The night is not as dark as it used to be. Even with the efforts to reduce light pollution that spills out to the sky by pointing the lamps downward, the breathtaking view of the night scenery is obscured by the glare from the lantern. INCESSANT laments excess light while yearning for total darkness in an enclosed space. The images portray a deceptive vision of a dwelling with no outlets for lights to penetrate through. Darkness is the absence of light. Darkness does not exist, we do not have darkness.||URI:||http://hdl.handle.net/10356/67079||Rights:||Nanyang Technological University||Fulltext Permission:||restricted||Fulltext Availability:||With Fulltext|
