Issue Date: 2016
Abstract: “A thing of beauty is a joy for ever...” John Keats, 1818. When we look at the environment and exposure young children in our generation are growing up in, there is a drastic change in lifestyle habits and types of play exposure and much of it affects the development of our young. Strongly inspired by the philosophies of Rudolf Steiner and the Waldorf education, this project explores the relationship between child’s imaginative and exploratory advance through play and exposure. Governed by various design principles and ideologies, it strives to captivate the child in endless possibilities; driving free and constructive engagements. Through play, this project prompts to bring tactile and formal awareness as well as encourage and challenge creativity and thinking in the child.
