Title: A meditation : spinning tops
Authors: Teong, Derek Shi Hong
Keywords: DRNTU::Visual arts and music
Issue Date: 2016
Abstract: A Meditation: Spinning Tops is a project that focuses on infusing a few key concepts embodied by the spiral into spinning tops, both in the actual object itself, as well as in the act of spinning the tops. The concepts that were used for this project are as follows: the meditative journey that is in embodied by the spiral, and quality of duality that underlies that metaphorical journey. As such, this report contains an inquiry into spirals in nature and culture, the means through which spirals can be generated, and the most basic spirals that serve as the template for other spirals.
