dc.description.abstractIf I want to voice out a specific issue on animal welfare in Singapore, what is my concern? After drugs and firearms, wildlife trafficking is the 3rd most valuable illicit commerce in the world. It is a lucrative business of over $10 billion a year. At the expense of the animals that suffered in the process. "I Was A 10-Year-Old Wildlife Trafficker" is an FYP installation which concerns the supply chains of the illegal wildlife in Singapore and abroad. As the illegal wildlife trade is a lucrative business, it is important to understand the motivations for these practices; not just the financial aspects but also going through the emotional and psychological processes. With better understanding of the psychology behind the demand and supply of exotic animals, we might be able to prevent such practices. My final project reveals a series of interconnected stories from a fictive child's perspective; considering contemporary patchwork with multi-media as a means to visually-communicate my research as a whole.en_US
