Title: Synthesis of aluminium-iron-silicide intermetallics
Authors: Sritharan, Thirumany.
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Materials::Metallic materials
Issue Date: 2002
Abstract: Conventional manufacturing methods such as casting, powder sintering could be adopted for the production of intermetallics. However, the method based on the principle of self-propagating high temperature synthesis (SHS appears to be promising for ease production [1.2]The aluminium based intermetallic compounds that have been investigated by SHS production technqiues are the binary ones such as NiAl, TiAl, FeAl, NbAl, TaAl, CuAl, CoAl and RuAl [3-7].
