Abstract: With solar energy as one of the popular renewable energy sources, steps to improve the efficiency of solar panel become important. There are various ways to improve the efficiency, but only one is looked into. In the project, apart from the solar panel, there are 2 main circuits designed, a microcontroller and power storage device. The project targets to track the movement of the sun by making use of sensors and also charge up a power storage device. The result showed that the sun movement could be traced with the help of the microcontroller and the rate of charge of the storage device was not appealing. For future recommendations, a more realistic prototype with equipment used by commercially can be explored. In conclusion, there are many feasible ways to improve efficiency, however more practical approach can be targeted as a forthcoming suggestion.
