Abstract: The problem that trying to solve in this project is investigating a food catering truck assistant system which can help the operator to dock the truck precisely. There is more and more food catering truck accidents in recent years, it brings a lot of unnecessary troubles. For example, the food truck damage the aircraft will cause the unnecessary cost, this is a huge cost to the food providing company. As well as the delay of the flight will bring unnecessary trouble to the passengers. By research the docking process of the food catering truck, as well as to understand the framework of the truck. The function of the food catering truck still can improve to the next level, as well as the safety standards.The approach i adopt to solve the problem is installing the ultrasonic sensors in front of the chassis cab and the platform, As well as a video cam on the canopy. There are two display screen which mounted in the chassis cab and vanbody. It will help the driver done all the docking process safety. However, this project is main focus on the research. It could not install the sensors on the real food catering truck to do the test. There may have problems occur during the installing or the images display on the screen. All those things should repeated debugging to find the errors. For example, the position of the sensors, the connection of the sensors as well as the type of sensors. When it comes to the real, there will have more problems encounter. However i am sure that installing sensors to improve the safety standard is in the right track. In the end, all the docking process are showing in the video form which done by software AutoCAD and Maya.
