Abstract: Over the past several years, cloud computing is has become much popular as it has many advantages such as high reliability, large scalability, low cost and so on, compared to some other traditional technologies. When people use cloud computing, they can access the resources and applications easily just by entering into cloud. With the rapid development of cloud computing, increasing numbers of companies start putting their data and files in the cloud, which however results in a potential risk of the safety environment in the cloud computing. The security is a very important issue in the services supported by cloud computing and, if not paid enough attention, it may bring huge losses to the companies. Therefore more and more companies are concerned about this issue. This report focuses on the cloud computing services in android devices and takes Dropbox as an example to discuss the safety problems in it. Then a solution is proposed to enhance the security of the files in Dropbox. In general, we develop an application in android platform to encrypt the file before it is uploaded to the Dropbox and decrypt it using the same key. In this way, files in the Dropbox are all encrypted, so attackers are unable to get the valid information without the key even if they have already stolen the files from the cloud by some illegal ways. The application app can encrypt the text files so far, it can be exploited to encrypt voice and video files in the future.
