Abstract: The objective of this project was to design and construct a vertically stacked MED plant in the Energy conversion laboratory. Experiments would be carried out on the plant to investigate the desalination processes. The three effects to be chosen is to introduce a proper set of instrumentation and control hard-wares so that the three effects could be used to simulate an industrially operational MED system having any number of effect. This system could be used for the studies of the MED system performance due to varying system input parameters.
