dc.description.abstractBarrier coverage by wireless sensor networks: a simulation study. Wireless sensor network is widely used in military and civil applications. It has been studied intensively in the past years. By simulating the different coverage performance using C++ and estimating the possible coverage performance by comparison, we conducted a simulation study on performance of barrier coverage by wireless sensor networks. Specifically, we evaluated the effects of a few different factors, including sensing and transmission range, distribution of sensors and so on. on sensing performance of the network. Unlike the existing studies which typically consider worst case performance, our study shall mainly focus on average performance of the network.en_US
