Abstract: Employees are the most valuable assets of most companies, and preserving their health are an immediate positive effect of productivity. Although humans are able to perform many kinds of physical work-every day and for long periods, but a time always comes: when such work involves a risk to health. Ergonomic working aids prevent these risks. They help to avoid accidents, injuries and absenteeism due to sickness. So a good handling and transport equipment not only provides relief for the workers, but also ensures a uniform working speed. At present, the existing lifting products at the market cannot meet the working conditions' requirements. So the purpose of this project is to design a assistive equipment. Basically, the project has three modules - lifting part, shelving part and mobile part. In lifting part, two potential scheme can achieve lifting motion: chain-sprocket and ball bearing lead screw. Both proposal are reasonable and the designed parts meet the strength requirements. Shelving part talks about the different situations whether or not there is a rotation DOF in shelving parts. The efficiency and load capacity could be more higher without rotation DOF; while people need to do more work with this mechanism. Wheel hub motor can save effort a lot, so select it as driving source. The thesis mainly focus on the mechanical design and this design satisfy the using conditions. The future work is to finish electronic control system design.
