Abstract: In today’s hectic society, people are too busy to visit a doctor for health problems such as cough, rashes, insomnia etc. Most people will adapt a “wait and see” attitude or search online from unreliable sources in regards to their symptoms and treatments. However, all these small problems might be symptoms for chronic diseases or illnesses and to delay in diagnosis might even be life threatening. Online Medical Consultation System (OMCS) is a web based application that allows patients and doctors to communicate with each other without the need to travel to the hospital. The system will allow doctors and patients to have a real-time online consultation through their webcams. Additionally, the system will also allow the patients to post queries and allow doctors to answer them during their free time. The main objective of this project is build a web application to serve as an add-on to the current healthcare system by establishing a robust communication between doctors and patients through the internet. This web application will be a healthcare platform that aims to be more cost and time effective and at the same time providing a better healthcare in Singapore.
