Abstract: With the increasing availability of low-cost air-carriers over the years, travelling is a common activity adopted by many people over the world. As complement to the prosperous tourism industry, services that cater to help people to planned their accommodation and travel itinerary has been blooming. By conducting studies on people’s choices for their overseas experience, improvements or new services can be developed for this proliferated industry. In this project, a travel application will be designed to inform and facilitate user in making a wise decision for purchases when they are overseas. Often, tourists are unsure of the culture of their destination and are often being reaped with high prices charged to them. The aims of this application, SMARTravel, will be to assist user to negotiate for appropriate price and equip them with the necessary information for such a negotiation to take place. The location, probabilities of conducting such a negotiation and the method to negotiate will be presented to the user of the application. The focus of this report is to document the development process of SMARTravel, and the algorithm behind the negotiation process, as well as suggestion for future improvements.
