Abstract: This report reviews whether the multitasking performance of an individual is affected by factors such as academic aptitude, gender or age and whether a multi-tasking game can be designed to help people assess and improve their abilities to multi-task. This project gamified the subject of multi-tasking to collect data from individuals for analysis. Participants play up to four games simultaneously with varying levels of difficulty. The conclusion drawn from the analysis is that both age and gender are probable factors that affect an individual’s multitasking performance. There was not enough data to assess the impact of academic pedigree on an individual’s ability to multitask and we consider this part of future work. The information gathered in this report can help companies understand what kind of people can multitask better or how to improve the ability of its employees to multi-task. For example, a company looking to hire pilots may be able to assess and enhance the multi-tasking abilities of its current pilots and future hires. Multi-tasking is one of the most critical skills for pilots.
