Title: Activity monitor and management system on Android using blue low energy (BLE)

Abstract: TI Simple Link SensorTag Development Kit is a low-power device that make Internet of Things (IoT) development easy. It includes 10 low-power MEMS sensor namely the ambient light, digital microphone, magnetic sensor, humidity sensor, pressure sensor, object and ambient temperature sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer. It uses Simple Link Bluetooth Smart Ultra-low power CC2650 microcontroller (MCU) and powered using a CR2032 coin cell battery. In this project, an approach is proposed to develop an Android application called Sense&Alert (S&A) that perform activity monitoring and management using CC2650 STK SensorTag. S&A consists of four different components. The first component is called BLE Management that allows S&A to connect and extract sensors data from multiple SensorTags. The second component is a Reminder System that uses SQLite Database and notification function to help user keep track of important events. The third component is an Elderly Management System to help detect falls made by elderly who lives alone at home; it uses a fall detection algorithm to detect a fall and the consciousness of the user after the fall. If unconsciousness is detected, a SMS is sent automatically to notify the person designated by the elderly. It allows the elderly to take their body temperature using the IR SensorTag as well. The fourth component is a Children Management System to help reduce the risk of parents losing their kids outdoor. It consists of a proximity system that uses RSSI reading from the SensorTag to determine the distance between the kids and their parents.
