Abstract: This research paper is a report on the techniques and process of the creation of the animated short, The Sky Painter. Through The Sky Painter, we explore the relationship between a cheerful, active little girl, Maisy, and her workaholic, one-track minded grandfather, Neil. It seeks to convey the importance of spending time with family. Our four-man team faced many challenges and are working our way through from pre-production to production and post-production. This report is a detailed account on the process of making the final year project film, mainly based on the parts of production that the author has worked on.
