Title: | Design and fabrication of vehicle control module | Authors: | Loi, Yong Hwee | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering | Issue Date: | 2017 | Abstract: | The report aims to demonstrate the design and implementation of vehicle control module in a battery electric vehicle which have the functions of data display, speedometer and power ignition control modes. Controller Area Network (CAN) was used to communicate between electronic control units (ECU) such as battery management unit and temperature management unit. An Arduino microprocessor was programmed to process the data and assigned it to relevant ECU or display the data on a screen. For example, vehicle control module communicates with ECUs to receive information of battery parameters. This information is useful for user to monitor battery status. In every vehicle, it is essential to have a cluster at the front of driver. Implementation of a sensor at the motor to pick up pulses when motor rotates and a circuit is constructed to convert motor speed and display rpm and speed at the cluster. In addition, this project developed power ignition modes such as accessories mode and start mode which is required in every vehicle. These modes operate the vehicle differently; the accessories mode is when the car is stationary and start mode is when the car is moving. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/70957 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
