dc.description.abstract | The study of Precast element design has acquired significant interest from the developers and researchers over the decades due to the efficiency to provide quality concrete buildings. Among several methods of producing concrete element design, software is the most commonly used approach in the designing phase and therefore, it becomes a reliable source to convert into design and analysis diagrams through the input of key variables value and structural considerations. Precast element design with Singapore Standard Code of Practice for Structural Use of Concrete – CP65: 1999 was adopted in this research because of their high ability to design precast elements properties. One predominant challenge in this field is the limited design of concrete elements of the precast concrete. Hence, this study proposed a development of Eurocode-compliant innovative and purpose-built solution for precast element design by introducing Tekla Tedds for Word with Tedds library feature. Precast element design calculation is investigated through defining variables and words feature under the addition of various input levels. Synchronized and dynamic assignments of the Tedds library and its support as compared to the traditional words were also analyzed. Moreover, precast calculation to produce graphical interface with parametric diagrams is first derived by various formulas through different assigned values of variables data and the calculation will thereafter be exported to Tekla Structures and Tekla Tedds through the Application Program Interface (API). In addition, optimization of graphical interface and result will then be examined to further enhance the performance of the precast design. Through evaluating and comparing the results, it can be shown that the Eurocode-compliant innovative and purpose-built solution is possible to enhance the efficiency of precast element design framework by generating Tekla Tedds precast calculation. | en_US |
