Title: | Requiem | Authors: | Chai, Bin Bin | Keywords: | DRNTU::Visual arts and music::Film | Issue Date: | 2017 | Abstract: | Requiem is a short VFX film depicting a battle of wits between a robot and a human. This film aims to represent a futuristic development of the world, whereby entertainment choices are fueled by technology. Robots will become more complex and overpowered, which will eventually be extremely hard to challenge or defeat during a faceoff. The robot was meticulously modelled and textured to present itself as an undefeatable and popular opponent. To facilitate the animation and contact between the robot and the human, there was an extensive use of techniques such as motion capture, virtual camera, 3D animation and simulation, which will be documented in this report. This report will focus on my involvement, the learning curves and challenges faced in the different stages of the VFX pipeline. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/71231 | Schools: | School of Art, Design and Media | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
