Title: | Love still or still love | Authors: | Lim, Shiau Kiat | Keywords: | DRNTU::Visual arts and music | Issue Date: | 2017 | Abstract: | Family photos capture vignettes of happy and precious moments, which decorate the walls and tabletops at home. They picture blissful marriages, celebration of a new life, or a milestone in life. These are the ‘ideal family’ which all of us longs for. We know however, that life stories are not always sweet and smooth. This project does not aim at interpreting the ‘ideal family. Instead, through the use of storytelling and illustrations, this project expresses the less known side of family issues through a personal take. The project was a series of two different stories: a young woman embarking on a journey to meet a new life, and a son handling his child-like father. These two illustrated books are for adults who share similar experiences, as well as for those who are willing to understand the other side of the story.
