Abstract: Wireless charging technology has since evolved tremendously over the past decades due to its convenience and its safe function compared to the wired charging. In the era of modernization, many countries employ the electric powered vehicles technology to enable users to have a further improvement of convenience. However, more research and measures are to be taken to increase the wireless power transfer efficiency to save energy. Wireless charging technology for Electric Vehicles (EV) can be implemented in the carparks, malls and anywhere along the road. Currently, wireless charging for EV has been done in a stationary form where the vehicle is parked to charge at the spot. This project considers the possibility of charging the EV wirelessly while it is on the move, tracking the system’s maximum power transfer efficiency. The main technology/ circuitry used in this project are the half bridge SS-topology circuit and the Pulse Density Modulation (PDM) control method. This project poses a few challenges. 1. Fast varying mutual inductance between the supply’s transmitting plate and vehicle’s receiving plate. 2 The distance between the transmitting plate and receiving plate for effective power transfer.
