dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this project is to perform numerical simulations of a hydrogen-aided diesel engine and find out if adding hydrogen to the engine system is beneficial in terms of combustion efficiency and environmental effects, such as NOx and COx footprint. The simulations are performed with the commercial ANSYS Fluent on a two-dimensional model of an Internal Combustion Engine chamber. In this project, hydrogen will be taken as an additive to diesel fuel and the combustion efficiency and combustion products will be evaluated. The effect of fuel contents will be studied. To this end, variable hydrogen-injected concentration at 0%, 25%, 50% and 75% of total fuel injected are analyzed, constituting a total number of 4 cases for comparison. | en_US |
