Authors: Loh, Ying Hui
Keywords: DRNTU::Humanities
Issue Date: 2017
Abstract: This essay will examine the idea of evil in the series, examining recent trends in contemporary fairy tale adaptations before moving on to analyses of several villains portrayed in Once. This paper will then discuss the representation of evil in the series with reference to contemporary thinkers and philosophers on the problem of evil, such as Hannah Arendt and Susan Neiman. Finally, this essay will demonstrate that the series implicitly promotes the power of community in combatting evil through the acceptance of vulnerabilities.
