Abstract: The expectation and obligation were originated from the expectation theory and the psychological contract theory which belong to the motivation theories. The degree of motivation equals the product of expectation and its accomplished possibility (Vroom 1973), The expectation and the obligation may not be written on the paper, which means the desirability employee think he should gain and the awareness employee think he should repay. In order to find out weight of the expectation and obligation in Chinese enterprises, according to Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory and the real situation in China, we divided the expectation into five segments: expectation of achievement, expectation of job, expectation of relationship, expectation of benefit, expectation of welfare. According to Rousseau's psychological contract theory, we Divided the obligation into four segments: loyal, obedience, contribution, overtime. The expectation and the obligation is influenced by philosophy of employee and social environment, which means in a certain social environment a certain philosophy will lead to certain expectation and the obligation.
