The “Female Body”, as an alternative way of writing the historical space, is often forgotten in the historical context with a grand narrative concept. As a symbol of social and cultural imagination, the “female body”, is a passive body that is constructed by its history and culture. Therefore, the way of re-reading the “female body” in the historical space, is another perspective of knowing history. This thesis attempts to study the script The Bride Always Knocks Twice, jointly written by Jonathan Lim and Liu Xiaoyi, to understand how the “Female body” is constructed by its history, image, and voice in the social space. Therefore, by examining the oppression that “Female Body” has suffered from in the society, and try to disintegrate the space that causes the oppression, and reveals the imagination of all kinds of “Female Body”.
