|Title:||论《哈利 • ·波特》系列电影字幕翻译中专有名词的翻译策略 = A study on subtitle translation strategies of proper names in Harry Potter film series||Authors:||萧凯乐 Seow, Charlotte Kai Ler||Keywords:||DRNTU::Humanities||Issue Date:||2018||Abstract:||近年来，影视娱乐市场越发蓬勃，好莱坞电影更是其中的佼佼者。本文选择用世界上最卖座电影之一的《哈利·波特》系列电影做分析题材。《哈利·波特》一播出就席卷全球，受到全球各地的热烈关注。尤其是其中的魔法元素更是掀起了一股魔法旋风。电影中出现的新词都可归类为“专有名词”。为了让观众更加了解专有名词的含义，字幕翻译成了不可或缺的存在。然而，字幕翻译受到时间和空间的限制，也含有一定的局限性。字幕必须以简洁贴切的方式传递原文的信息。译者可选择采用不同的翻译策略来达到这个目的。此外，随着网络的发展，除了官方字幕，观众可以从不同的资源获取优质的字幕。 本文将着重探讨《哈利·波特》电影专有名词的翻译策略，随后也会分析官方字幕与字幕组字幕翻译的差异。最后本文将指出正版官方字幕的不足之处。7 years on since the last of the Harry Potter film series, Harry Potter is still one of the most successful movie series in film history. Harry Potter’s magical world was every moviegoer’s fantasy. The author, J.K Rowling, successfully created a whole new magical world that was made up of spells, magical potions and creatures. Magic could be found in every detail of each movie. A way in which the magic can be conveyed and expressed to viewers from all nations is through Subtitling. Subtitles give people of various languages, cultures, and educational backgrounds a platform to gain a better understanding of a movie in a different language. However, subtitling is limited by spatial and time constrains. Good subtitles for a movie should thus be clear and concise in conveying the message of the movie to its viewers. Furthermore, with the rise of the Internet, viewers are able to obtain quality subtitling files from various Fan-sub groups online. This dissertation will discuss the translation strategies of the magical terms in the movie series, which can all be categorized under a linguistic term − Proper Name. A comparison between Official subs and Fan-subs will also be made.
