Issue Date: 2018
Abstract: Chatbots have become increasingly prevalent in improving the way we interact with machines. Starting from Eliza program in 1960s to various modern bots, such as XiaoIce by Microsoft, many approaches have been studied to improve chatbots performance. In this paper, we evaluate the development of chatbot with Dialogflow as the intents and entities extractor. The chatbot focuses on Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) response retrieval and some other university-related queries. We also discuss the system architecture and numerous modules that are used to enhance the system performance for both front-end and server-side programming. Finally, this project also reviews user tests result to find out the applicability and usability of the chatbot system, and how it helps us to improve the system further.
