|Title:||To find solace: letters of self-compassion||Authors:||Wong, Deborah||Keywords:||DRNTU::Visual arts and music||Issue Date:||2018||Abstract:||Often we find it easier to console and support a friend in need but hardly ever do we repeat the same words of comfort to the ones who need it most–ourselves. To Find Solace: Letters of Self-Compassion is a personal exploration documenting my own introspective experience of unpacking and understanding what it means to show this same kindness towards myself. Through a collection of stories, encounters and interviews with 15 individuals, as well as the practice of self-reflective letter-writing, pain and compassion are broken down; showing us that we are not alone in our struggle and our search for forgiveness and care that we should be giving ourselves. To Find Solace aims to inspire your first step towards self-compassion, using my story as a testament to what it could mean to embark on this journey.||URI:||http://hdl.handle.net/10356/74325||Rights:||Nanyang Technological University||Fulltext Permission:||restricted||Fulltext Availability:||With Fulltext|
