Abstract: This scope of this report is on the oil and gas and mining industries of Mexico. Natural resources contributed 7.2 % of GDP in 1998. The oil and gas industry has traditionally been an important contributor of government revenues, accounting for about 31.6% or US$18 billion out of total revenues of US$58 billion in 1998. The report attempts to identify the business opportunities available both for Mexican government and the private investors through a review of the existing industry structure.
