Title: Liner shipping stowage planning optimization in strategic process
Authors: Zhang, Yifan
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Maritime studies
Issue Date: 2018
Abstract: Low-cost container shipping industry requires effective stowage plans to ensure safety and reduce operating costs. Stowage plan optimization has great economical benefits. The project aims to apply mathematical modeling method to optimize stowage planning of container ships. The integer-programming model addresses container stowage planning issue in terms of container group allocation, crane movements, and ship stability. Some related constraints are made regarding the limitation on container type, yard condition, etc. In the report, a feasible solution is provided to solve the problem.
