Abstract: Singapore is a developed country with tropical climate. As a developed country, buildings take up a significant amount of energy consumption. Studies have shown that Heating,Ventilation and Air-conditioning System (HVAC) used up a substantial 50% of total energy consumption for buildings. Due to Singapore’s hot and humid weather, ventilation is necessary and essential to promote occupant’s health, productivity and well-being. This can be supported by SPRING Singapore, which have put in place a standard recommend minimum ventilation system rate for commercial building. Increased building energy use is expected over the years as Singapore continues to experience population growth. Therefore, energy efficiency and savings have become more crucial. The main objective of this project is to apply the developed token based HVAC systems in a realistic building model. The realistic building model used in this project is S1 Building located at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The model is simulated by estimating its parameters with the use of Google SketchUp, OpenStudio, and EnergyPlus. The results obtained will be evaluated to help reduce the energy consumption in a commercial building model.
