Abstract: The advancement of additive manufacturing, otherwise known as 3D printing, had revolutionize traditional manufacturing with their numerous benefits. With the growing need for advanced polymeric materials such as polymer composites and blends, 3D printing has the potential to fill up the gap. Compatibility of polymers had always been an issue when dealing with polymer blends. This issue is addressed in this report using group contribution method. Group contribution method is an additive rule which provide fast computation of solubility parameter with good accuracy. An excel datasheet is designed using molar attraction constants of Hoy group to investigate the case studies from literature. The experiment shows most of the polymer blends used in 3D printing are chemically compatible. Overall, the method proves to be a viable approach to calculate solubility parameter.
