As conventional way of producing energy from fossil fuels and natural gas emits a large amount of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. To reduce the effects of global warming, the world is moving towards sustainable energy as an alternate source of power. Floating offshore wind turbines are one of the few ways of extracting clean energy from the nature. However, only a small percentage of energy is harvested from the wind using conventional wind turbines. By incorporating biological features of plants and animals into the design of turbine blades, this may in turn reduce drags experience by the blades. With drag force being reduce, the wind turbine will be more efficient in harvesting the wind energy. From the results, the Dryobalanops aromatica seed inspired biomimetic wind turbine may not be economically beneficial to be produced. The efficiency of the biomimetic wind turbine capturing wind power was not better than NREL 5MW. However, the biomimetic wind turbine has a good wake recovery and low thrust. Thus, future studies can be done on a smaller scale Dryobalanops aromatica seed inspired biomimetic wind turbine.en_US
