Abstract: Electromagnetic Polarization is a phenomenon that happens in 3D space. However, there are no 3-dimensional visualizations of electromagnetic polarization yet. Current applications displaying polarization are applications displayed on 2-dimensional screens. Hence this project aims to visualize Electromagnetic Polarization in 3-dimensional space using 3D technologies such as Virtual Reality. This is done using the Unity Engine and Google Cardboard. Since your mobile phone is used as a display in Google Cardboard, there is no way to interact with the application while in VR mode, hence a WiFi controller functionality is also added such that a second device is able to connect with the first device via WiFi or hotspot and control the display of the first device. Further improvement to this application could be to add Bluetooth capability to the application so that the controller functionality can still be used in a place that does not have WiFi or mobile data.
