Abstract: In this report, the objective is to study the computer vision techniques and develop a facial recognition system to track a person using a live video camera. Security is a concern for Singapore amidst the threats of terrorism in the region. To assist the authorities in their efforts to gather intelligence on suspicious characters, a human detection and tracking system powered by computer vision and machine learning can help them in their work. The report will cover the various face detection techniques and the development of a facial recognition program using Python programming language. The design of interface and tests conducted will also be evaluated at the end of the report.
