Abstract: This report discusses about monitoring and alerting system for epilepsy patient. A developed system is designed to ease patient's mood relaxation to prevent a seizure, and in cases when there is a seizure attack, the system will notify the patient's next-of-kin (NOK) immediately so they can be assured of their kin’s safety. This developed system makes use of Myndplay's brainband to determine the brainwave frequency of a patient; Photoresistor sensor to detect surrounding flashing lighting to warn the patient; Raspberry Pi 3 as an embedded system to program the logic of the system. This project aims to is to acquire knowledge and experience on the design and implementation on this system, focusing on biological brainwave, how to prevent a seizure from happening, understanding on brainwave's entrainment concept. In this portion of the project, testing was conducted to proof the concept of brainwave entrainment. To understand how biological brainwave works, understanding the different frequency of brainwave and which brainwave's frequency range triggers a seizure are necessary, as well as what other factors affects a seizure. These are described briefly in the report.
