Abstract: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) has become an increasingly important diagnostic modality. It provides clear imagery of human tissues that helps doctors make more accurate diagnoses without harming the patients. However, MRI procedures are noisy and uncomfortable, requiring patients to remain still for long periods of time. Patients often experience anxiety and claustrophobia during the procedure. This project aims to help patients get through the scanning procedure smoothly by exploring ways to engage patients through sonic and visual stimuli, and build their understanding of the entire course of MRI.
