Abstract: Radio Frequency energy harvesting is getting popular due to RF signals being abundant in the ambient surrounding. RF signals can be reuse and convert into electrical energy for powering of small loads. This make RF energy harvesting clean and green which could possibly remove battery or electrical supply to small loads. RF signal bands are in the range of 3 kHz to 300 GHz. With the high occupancy rate of the GSM 900MHz in Singapore, the 900MHz RF signal would be more feasible to harvest due to high utilization of the 900MHz band. In this FYP report, different types of RF energy harvester circuit is examined in the context of 900MHz RF signal. The different types of circuit are the different voltage multipliers. They are first examined in the software simulation in ADS and after which comparison is done in the hardware simulation as well. Results of the RF-DC conversion efficiency is then presented to indicate the circuit with the highest efficiency and voltage output. A monopole antenna was also implemented to simulate ambient RF signals as well to illustrate the ambient RF energy harvesting.
