Development of Android application: an Android application for running a restaurant. [Nibbles: a restaurant management solution]

Abstract

These days, Singapore is moving towards a digital lifestyle. This creates a demand and platform for e-commerce platforms - from Shopping, learning, and dining. The traditional restaurant management procedure is an entirely manual process that involves restaurant servers, pen and paper. However, this traditional method may pose a threat for human errors, which involves miscalculation of payment and error in reservation bookings. These eventually subjects the restaurant to face huge losses overtime. This Final Year Project aims to understand the current trends of consumer to embrace their expectations and efficiencies of restaurant services. Through this, the author aims to develop an android mobile application - Nibbles that tackles the inefficiencies of restaurant management and traditional food ordering process. This research and application developed aims to help many existing or aspiring business owners better manage their business and customers to simplify their dining experience.
